Taylor's Automatic Refresher - San Francisco, California
I really wanted to visit the original Taylor's location in St. Helena on this trip, but time was not on my side since there were so many other things that I wanted to do on this short hop to San Francisco. I did manage to visit Taylor's at the Ferry Building and while it was not the best burger that I have had, it certainly was enjoyable. The most interesting part of the meal was the side order of fluorescent green garlic fries!
Blue cheese burger (US$7.49)
Virginia-style BBQ pulled pork sandwich (US$8.99)

I agree that their burgers are fine, if not out of this world. More like an upscale In-and-Out.
Their sweet potato fries, however, *are* out of this world!

Hey R, just dropping by to say HI. The burger looks good. Still waiting for the day I get to try a In-N-Out burg.

Oh yum, I like their burgers *a lot*. Been meaning to post about a trip to the St. Helena location -- I agree w/Debbie-chan that their sweet potato fries are out of this world!

Just stumbled across your site searching for good food in Hawaii.
Re: Taylors Refresher: the thing to order is the Wisconsin Sourdough burger -- smothered with mushrooms, onions and cheddar on sourdough bread - totally awesome. Way, way, way beyond In-N-Out, not even the same league. The sweet-potato fries and the fresh-fruit shakes are incredible too.
Email me if you still need some New Orleans tips. I used to live there.
