Good to *see* you again!
I was dying to try Hank's since I read about it's opening, so when I visited Oahu over Labor Day to attend the Okinawa Festival, it was my first stop. I was thinking I'd have the duck/foie gras dog, but it was Saturday's special, so I had Friday's wild boar special and came back Saturday for the foie gras. They were both great, with really well matched toppings -- chopped apple and cranberry on the boar, and honey mustard and some kind of preserved fruit on the duck/foie. The fries, which I had with the tobiko wasabi dipping sauce were just the way I like them -- thin but not overly crisp. The next day I had the onion rings with the curry ketchup. Also good. For drinks I had the hibiscus lemonade and the pineapple ice.
The Kobe dog sounds good, too. I probably won't be back until Labor Day next year, but I look forward to trying more of the menu.
Oh, the crew there was super nice (and enthusiastic), too.

Hey Reid! Welcome back!
Man, that's one high class hot dog. Was it expensive? I gotta try this place out next time I'm on Oahu. For now, I'll be eating my itsu's hot dogs! haha

this hot dog craze is madness, rabies, at the very least. Grrrr.

Hi All,
This hot dog was great and expensive ($8.50). I told Dale that I thought it was similar to what a "hot dog" bahn mi would taste like.
He said that his goal was to do something with an Asian twist to it since most of the food he cooks is in the French culinary style.
Fats,
I'm BARELY still at it. Send me an email when you have a chance. I might be near your old stomping grounds in May.

I heard a lot about this place and owner so I decided to give it a try.
Went conservative since it was my first time and had the Chicago dog with mustard and fluorescent green relish with fries.
I was a little disappointed. The dog was just okay. A little crunchy on the outside and juicy. the fries were medium cut with the skins left on.
At $4.50 for a regular dog, I think Costco does it better. I'll probably give a more exotic dog a chance next time.

What a great name and great idea. I'd love to try this twist on a classic...
