Oh my Reid - Ebisu, before I left for the mainland, I lived right around the corner. It seems that prices have gone up a bit over the last few year? I remember I could stuff my face for like $5?

Marvo

I usually see a line at Ebisu's when I pass by it. I've been meaning to try it, but it seems parking is kind of a pain, since it's right along King Street and I don't know if there is additional parking somewhere else.

Nate

mmMMMMmm....I can smell the tempura and taste the cone sushi right now.

Nigel

I miss these take outs with the mac salads and teriyaki chickens.

Hey Reid,
Have you been busy lately, seems like you haven't been in the mood for much typing or posting lately. Anyway, looks good, I still have to go to Mitsuken.
If you get a chance, come check out my new foodie blog. I have a link to you on my site.

OMG! How I miss Okazuyas! I hope they never disappear. Its seems that the food they serve is so labor intensive that making a profit is difficult. Since leaving for Los Angeles 13 years ago, I've never found food that comes close to the comfort food of Hawaii's Okazuyas. Boy do I miss home looking at your posts.

babe_kl

just like our "nasi campur" - mixed rice but yours looked so delish

D

Awesome! looks tasty.

Chubbypanda

Looks delicious. I can see why they named it after the god of cooking.

Sara

Sadly, Ebisu's is closing. Their last day is Father's Day, June 17. They are looking for another location to reopen. Really hope they do. Love their food and friendly staff.

Equipment

  • Canoneos5d
    Canon EOS 5D

Most of the newer photos on this site are being taken by this camera. I'm still learning how to use it, but I think the photos it takes are amazing. Though the lens I use often varies, many of the photos on this site are taken with a Canon EF 35mm f2.0 lens.

  • Dscu40r
    Sony Cyber-shot® DSC-U40

A majority of the photos on this site were shot using this little camera. It was compact and discreet -- excellent for taking photos under most conditions. Sadly, it has recently died.
