Canteen rocks.
If you are in search of other interesting sandwiches nearby there's Saigon Sandwiches and Wrap Delight (both south of $3 and good.) They are in a dodgey area, but not horribly so, just don't have hundred dollar bills hanging out of your pockets...

Reid, man, you're photos are so amazingly nice! I've been browsing your latest posts and they are all so crisp and lighting is great... then I found out you got a new camera. :) Very very nice... and that sandwich looks so yummy.

Hi Kelly,
Even though I don't like my meat too rare, especially pork, this sandwich was great!
Hi Chubby,
I loved Canteen and I wish that I had visited more often, especially since the hotel was only a couple blocks away! Oh well, there's always next year.
Hi Milgwimper,
Sorry, I didn't let you know I was coming. Maybe next year you can have lunch with me here at Canteen...my treat OK?
Hi Lajja,
Yes, yes, yes,....OMG, I miss SF!
Hi James,
The camera has a lot to do with it and I'm glad you approve of the photos! They do look good, don't they? A lot of it has to do with the subject matter too you know!
=)
And the sandwich...to die for!
