The Streets of San Francisco - Part 4
After spending a couple of days riding around in a car, I dedided that I need to get some fresh air. I called my friend and we decided to take a walk from my hotel to Lombard Street. When we started off, it was still a bit cool even though the sun was out.
Along the way, we passed by Tadich Grill, which is San Francisco's oldest restaurant. It's been in continuous operation since 1849!
Continuing on along California, we slowly climbed the hills in front of us. On our way, we passed Chinatown.
And a church (sorry can't remember the name of this one).
As we reached the top of the hill, we turned down one of the streets and continued on towards Lombard. As we walked, it got hotter, and the wind stopped blowing. There were some really nice views to be had along the way, including this one.
And this one of Alcatraz.
After about an hour or so, we finally made it. There were lots of people milling about and quite a number of cars making their way down Lombard Street. As we climbed up the stairs that were lining the street, the odor of burning brakes was in the air.
Finally, reaching the top, I was sweaty, exhausted, thirsty and hungry. After snapping a few pictures, we headed back on down towards the Tenderloin district and lunch at Naan-N-Curry. Near the corner of Taylor and Post, I saw something that caught my eye.
To be continued....
Reid - Not too get too personal, but did you gain any weight??? Funny thing, when I go to SF, I eat like crazy, but because we walk so much I end up losing weight...go figure.

Hi Kirk,
No it's not personal, and I don't really think I put on too much weight. Then again I wouldn't notice an extra 5 pounds. LOL! =P
Hi Santos,
Thank you for that! It was definitely a nice day...but way too hot. I was hoping for a cool breeze on that long walk! *sigh*

Hi Reid, looks like you hit the SF hot spots. Great pics. Everytime I see a photo of Alcatraz I remember what it was like to swim from there to Aquatic Park (insane yes, a 2001 adventure). Tadich's is definitely an SF institution, did you get something to eat there? The last time, and only time so far, I ate there, there were only male waiters. I wonder if they still do that? And if it is even legal. Great steak.

Hi Elise,
Thank you for the compliment on the pictures. Coming from you, it means a lot! =)
I can't believe you swam from Alcatraz to Aquatic Park. The water must have been freezing! I don't think I could do something like that.
When I passed by Tadich, it was actually closed for the holiday. Too bad. I've heard a few good things about that place. Ahhhh...a steak sounds good right now!
