Live from Singapore! - Part 1
Hello everyone! I got the broadband connection in the hotel to work. The only problem is this...I have to pay for the connection by the minute. Therefore, I'll only be uploading pictures for now. Full descriptions to follow upon my return to Hawaii.
Here's the first meal that I ate on my journey to Singapore. It was at a restaurant in the Narita airport called FaSoLa. The price for this meal, which was unagi don and zaru soba was ¥1200.
My first meal upon arriving in Singapore was a nice packet of nasi lemak. It was wrapped in a brown paper that was shaped into a cone. Sorry, this doesn't look too appetizing. Cost? S$1.50.
After walking around a bit near the hotel, I stopped to have some soursop juice S$2.00.
For dinner, I was taken to Samy's Curry Restaurant. There the four of us shared the fish head curry (medium, S$17.00).
And the rest of my plate consisted of cucumber, dahl, white rice, papadums and tandoori chicken.
Since it was Chinese New Year, all of the Chinese food stalls were closed. So today, we went to eat at a Malay food stall on Zion Road.
First was the tauhu telor S$4.00.
I also sampled the mee siam S$2.00.
As well as the mee rebus S$2.00.
To be continued...
Yum yum yum! I love soursop juice and your meal at Narita... mmm... unagi and zaru-soba. Two of my must-have favourites!
You're doing a stellar job too. You're still providing far more commentary than most of us can be bothered to do. And that's when we're not even on holidays. Nor paying for internet access!
Keep it up though. I'm drooling already.

Hey.. Reid.. :)
If you are staying in the hotel for a long time.. go negotiate with the Front Office Manager.. for a better rate for your connection. They CAN do something about it.. trust me..!! i've been in the hotel industry for 15yrs..!!
If you are shy to do it.. let me know.. i'll do it for you .. :)
Cheers..!!
PS :- but that's only if you really wanna go online for a long time.. because you should be out there.. experiencing everything.. right..???

Hi Reid,
haha, it's so funny to compare the cost of food in Japan to Singapore! Japan is ridiculous, *especially* at the airport. I hope you could enjoy the food though! =)
I'm trusting you to do a good job of eating and blogging so that I'll know what to do when I go to Singapore in March! Yoroshiku ne! (^_-)V

Hope you're enjoying stuffing yourself in Singapore. Did you weigh yourself before leaving for Singapore? Curious how many pounds you're gonna add when you're all done. :)

Hi AG,
The unagi and zaru soba at Narita was just OK. Not too good, but better than a lot of other airport food (except for Changi Airport in Singapore)!
Hi Jonny,
Thanks. It was wonderful. I just eat very slowly! =)
Hi MrsT,
I actually couldn't get a deal on the internet connection because I already got a deal on the room. The price of the room was less than S$100 per night. And yes, you're right. I want to be out there eating my way through everything!
Hi Stef,
Thanks! The soursop juice wasn't that good though. I guess it's because I got it nearby the hotel. It's made for tourists. I need to have it at one of the hawker centres if I can find it.
Hi milgwimper,
Long time no hear! Thank you so much. The food was amazing!
Hi lance,
The broadband connection does work, but it's a little spotty. It cuts off at times. =( The food here is very cheap compared to food back home. If you have a chance you should make plans to visit.
Hi foodpocket,
Thank you for stopping by my blog!
Yes, the food in Japan is quite expensive isn't it? The last time I was there, I practically lived on ramen and curry rice! Good luck on your trip to Singapore in March. Hopefully it won't be too hot.
Hi FatMan,
Yes, as a matter of fact I did weigh myself before going. When I came home, I weighed myself and found out that I actually lost 2 pounds. Imagine that! It must have been all the walking...and that heat!
