Party Mix
Many years ago, General Mills & Chex®, introduced us to Chex® party mix. The original Chex® party mix was made with a combination of Chex® cereals. The recipe for this party mix was given to me by a friend a while back, but unlike the original Chex® party mix, this one is a little sweet, a lot less salty and combines different textures and flavors.
Party Mix
2 packages Bugles® original flavor snacks
1 package Fritos® brand corn chips
1 package Cheetos® crunchy cheese flavored snacks
1 package mini pretzels (rods or twists)
3 blocks unsalted butter (or margarine)
1 1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce (I used Lee & Perrins®)
Mix the Bugles®, Fritos®, Cheetos® and mini pretzels together. Set aside.
**NOTE**
Instead of 2 packages of Bugles®, I used one package of Bugles® and one box of Honeycomb® cereal. Another good choice of cereal would be Cheerios®.
In a heavy-bottomed pan on low heat, melt butter. Add in sugar, garlic powder and Worcestershire sauce. Stir until smooth and well combined (should be the consistency of syrup).
Remove from heat and pour over dry ingredients until well coated. Bake for one hour at 250°F, mixing every 15 minutes. Allow to cool and store in air-tight containers.
This makes for an excellent between meal snack, and is great to much on while watching television! Enjoy!

Hi Gracie,
Nice to see you again! I'm glad the crab dip recipe worked out well for you. Everytime I make it, people tell me how much they enjoy it! I don't make it too often as it's quite fattening!
I've never tried party mix with peanut butter. Care to share the recipe? I also make a party mix using furikake that is not so sweet, but not so salty either. Perhaps I'll make a batch and do another post soon. =)
Hi Stef,
Thanks for dropping in! This one's good, but sometimes it's a little sweet for me too. If you'd like you can cut the sugar a bit. By doing so, this mix will turn out a bit saltier. =)
