Halo halo was soooo good. I have wanted to try it since I saw it on your blog here and tried it tonight!
As you said, I mixed it well, (but not let ube icecream melt, cos it is my favorite!) and then with shaved ice, thick sweet condenced milk and thick sweet ingredients were diluted into just nice sweetness. It was gooood.
I like to write about halohalo on my blog, and if you do not mind, I like to use your above halohalo picture on my blog. Hope to hear good news from you!

Also please visit my blog and feel free to leave your comment!
Thanks***

I like your pictures nicely taken all the time. Thanks a lot!

John

i took my wife to the Golden Coin in kalihi to get a halo halo w/ice cream right after we ate at Ray's Cafe :o)

Reid

Hi John,

The halo halo here is one of the best that I've had. I especially like that soft serve ube ice cream. Mmmm!

i ate at golden coin in waipahu with my husband tonight (03-22-06) and my husband found a fly on he's food, it was so disgusting. I told the cashier and the supervisor but all they did was give us another plate but my husband did not feel like eating there food anymore. The supervisor did not even say anything and just nodded her head and and cant even look at me in the eyes and the cashier just told me that it was just an accident that the fly was on one of there food which is the pork adobo. We will never going back to eat there cause they are serving old and disgusting food!

They need to restructure their operations. When there's a rush, they cannot handle. They get flustered. They don't smile at all! AWEFUL customer service! Even the haole manager was as rude as the counter ladies! People like that give Filipinos a bad rap. I went this Sunday to Waipahu, near the mill. And they ran out of rice! They didn't even come back to tell me "I'm sorry but we ran out of rice." I overheard the ladies telling it to each other in Tagalog! SO RUDE! The excuse was that there wa a party upstairs...shouldn't they be ready still with what they knew to be the lunch rush at that time?

Ate here once, did not enjoy the service or the food. I still think Bautista's Filipino Kitchen & Local Foods has the Best of All the Filipino Food Restaurants in Hawaii-No Kidding! I think This store is a copycat of Bautista's, and I'm from Hawaii-Los Angeles. Bautista's in the best, and I'm Hawaiian-Filipino-Chinese and English. Would not recommend this Store-Golden Coin. This is my opinion.

Surprised to what i saw on this link 2nite. First time 2 visit this link trying 2 findout menus/prices for banquet. Well, i guess not so lucky for what i am searching for, instead..good and bad comments. All i can say is if you wanna make sure you are eating fresh and clean, why don't cook your ownfood? D bestway di ba? Am not an avid customer of GC but I will not compare Bautista to GC. WHy not try Bautista at Pearlridge. If there's no other eatery than Bautista @ Pearlridge, I would still go back to GC.

Ric

I go to GC every now and then and overall I am satisfied with the quality of the food there. No flies on my food yet! As for the service, I agree that most of the time the counter ladies are rude and lack customer sevice. It is as if you owe them the service that they are giving instead of the other way around. And a lot of times whenever they see a friend on the line they skip a lot of customer and serve that Friend first before the person whose ahead of him. The management should focus on training their personnel regarding this matter or they will lose a lot of customer because of this.

I am half Filipino, and speak Tagalogd fluently. All the workers at GC Waipahu are friendly and helpful. The food is fresh and clean. I also went to elementary school in the Philippines, so understand the culture aswell. Filipinos are hard workers; who take their job seriously. I love their Dinuguan the best, and am proud to be half PINOY!

andy

from my recent experience there, i agree w/ the comments above about the really deplorable customer service. it was like they were actively trying to ignore me. i left after not getting any help. i'm embarrassed that the work staff is allowed to be so unfriendly.

Marjorie

Hey my mom works at Milltown Golden Coin!!! If by a chance u can go there look for this lady named Myra.... and the food there is very clean!!! i promise u guys!!! oh and by the way mom mom is a cashier and u can see her on Mondays,Tuesdays,Wednesdays,Thursdays, and Sundays...between 7:00-3:00...remember if u see her than tell her that ur daughter Marjorie posted a comment on google and she told us to go here cause there r clean and yummy foods here k!!! dont 4get

Gina

I ate at the GC Waipahu July 11th. The food was not great. The flan was excellent and the cashier friendly. After spending over $25 my 5 year old needed to use the restroom and they told me no, I asked politely a 2nd time clarifying that I had just had lunch there and this time I not only got a very loud and unfriendly NO from some older lady from behind the counter but I was rudely shoo'd away like a dog. I certainly DO NOT recommend this place.

Most of the newer photos on this site are being taken by this camera. I'm still learning how to use it, but I think the photos it takes are amazing. Though the lens I use often varies, many of the photos on this site are taken with a Canon EF 35mm f2.0 lens.

A majority of the photos on this site were shot using this little camera. It was compact and discreet -- excellent for taking photos under most conditions. Sadly, it has recently died.
