Chocolates! See's Chocolates! Dark Chocolates! I LIKE!
I'm a dark chocolate person too. Dark chocolate and nuts... does it for me each and everytime : )

but wow, they're expensive! I think more expensive than See's were in HK (if I remember correctly).
but then again, they're good : )

Reid

Renee,

Actually the price per pound that I posted was incorrect. It should actually be $14.30 per pound! Still a bit expensive in my books, but well worth it! Dark chocolate...it's really the only thing I eat! Pure bliss!

Maya

Hi

OOOOHHHHHH...chocolates! one should never read blogs esp blogs on chocs past midnight coz that makes my tummy growl. and all i have is a cup of hot cocoa! frankly, if i were you, i'd go into See's every day...just for the freebies!

Reid

Maya,

If I went everyday I probably wouldn't be able to hold myself upright from all the weight I would gain! LOL! I do manage to go a couple of times a week though... =)

Jo Rutherford

ah Reid... Apricots, toasted coconut, white chocolate. ::sniker:: To bad I didn't read this when you first blogged it. I consider myself something of an expert when it comes to See's. When my daughter (now 24) was growing up, we had a "depression" ritual. We would get a 1 or 2 pound box of "Nuts & Chews". The "Depressed One" made first choice, took a bite, passed to the "Support One" who would take a bite then pass it back for final consumption. If the piece was a favorite, there was no second pass back. I've taught the same ritual to Mike and we will probably pass it to the boys in turn.

I never have to worry about "what to get" for my daughter on Christmas & birthdays because if there is no See's in the box, she just may come after me with an ax! ::laughing:: We used to get really depressed! Which reminds me... I still have some Mother's Day box to eat... ::leaves keyboard::

Reid

Hi Jo,

Love See's candies...what would I ever do without them. Seems like you feel the same way. =)

Moira

Oh, Reid...what a trip to see (nyuck, nyuck) See's again! I could never go to Kahala Mall without stopping in for dark chocolate-covered fudge (I think that's what it was)...to die for!

There's so much milk chocolate here and I really just don't care for it. My neighbours call dark chocolate (mostly called 'plain') "grown-up chocolate"!

Jo Rutherford

Hey! I should have read better before posting. You might not have access in Hawaii, but here there are "company" stores that offer a $2 or so per pound discount on the pre-packed assortments as well as most of the seasonal items. You or your employer (you must provide evidence of employment) have to purchase a 50 POUND minimum during the year. There are also a few other ways to be eligible for the quantity discount. They used to have their own website but last I checked they had merged with amazon. I'm not fond of amazon... =o(

Reid

Hi Moira,

Should I send you some See's chocolates as well? Do you want to indulge? =P

Hi Jo,

I don't think I eat more than a couple of pounds of See's chocolates a year. I have to watch my sugar intake, especially as I get older. =)

BTW...I'm not really a chocolate lover (but secretly, I really am!).

Jo Rutherford

::laughing:: I'm gonna get a headache trying to understand that one!

milgwimper

Whats to understand Jo he dislikes chocolates (hands Reid a box of dark chocolates in an unmarked box, in the basement floor of the parking garage) Whats to figure not everyone likes chocolates (puts her chocolates in a chocolate protection program (in my stomach)...) ^_^; ok im being alittle too silly!

milgwimper

Reid

Hi Jo,

I didn't mean it...really I didn't!

Hi milgwimper,

Yes, unmarked box. Can you make it a two-pounder? =P

Jo Rutherford

::groan::
::runs to make sure her box is safe::
::looks at the lollipops and contemplates sharing::

Reid

Hi Jo,

Love the lollipops. I'm just sad that they don't make the chocolate raspberry ones anymore! =(

Jo Rutherford

whoa... Chocolate Rasberry? I had no idea! We never got them over this way! How long ago was this?

Reid

Hi Jo,

I think they discontinued them about a year and a half ago. I'm surprised they didn't have them there.

Equipment

  • Canoneos5d
    Canon EOS 5D

Most of the newer photos on this site are being taken by this camera. I'm still learning how to use it, but I think the photos it takes are amazing. Though the lens I use often varies, many of the photos on this site are taken with a Canon EF 35mm f2.0 lens.

  • Dscu40r
    Sony Cyber-shot® DSC-U40

A majority of the photos on this site were shot using this little camera. It was compact and discreet -- excellent for taking photos under most conditions. Sadly, it has recently died.
