Godiva Chocolatier
After dinner at Sunrise Restaurant last night we all ended up in Waikiki. It was hot and humid, with not nearly enough of those tradewinds to keep us cool. So to cool down, we ended up having one of these.
It was a Godiva ChocolixirTM(US$4.50). This one here is called the "Dark Chocolate Decadence" and is made using Godiva 72% extra dark chocolate pieces, some chocolate powder and crushed ice. Blend well, then serve. The beverage is topped with whipped cream and some dark chocolate syrup.
The drink was delicious, but didn't really WOW me. I was actually hoping for a more "chocolatey" experience, especially since this was Godiva. By the way, you should have seen the line, it was out the door. Guess everyone had the same idea I did.

Godiva! *drool* I can honestly say that when I saw your post heading feature the word Godiva I audibly inhaled sharply and sat up straighter as I leaned in towards my monitor...
Shame it wasn't chocolatey though. I love their hazelnut pralines. They're giant-sized too. Well ok, AG-sized more like! =)

Nice touch there Reid in ending the weekend. Started us off with home style cooking and closed with a desert.

Reid,
Wow that does look yummy, and yeah I can understand your disspointment. I usually am dissapointed with some of the chocolate drinks out because of their lack of chocolate flavour. Maybe you should try making one yourself.
Clare,
great idea!

Whoa, a GODIVA chocolixir?! that's a must try. shucks, why don't they have it here in singapore??? i'm trying to imagine how it tastes like now. i'm this close to grabbing that bar of dark baking chocolate i have in my fridge right now!

Too bad it didn't wow you ..Reid..!! i was hoping that it was GREAT..!

It must've been a bummer that the chocolixir didn't wow you in a major way, Reid. One would think a legendary chocolatier like Godiva could've done something more spectacular.

Hi AG,
I haven't tried their hazelnut pralines, but since you love them, I have to try them, don't I? After all, you have great taste!
I was also expecting more.
Hi RONW,
Thank you, but you do mean dessert don't you? =)
Hi Clare,
It did look good, and it was OK. But given that this was Godiva, I certainly expected more for the US$4.50 I paid. After all, this was only a SMALL drink.
Hi Makan Kings,
Godiva doesn't sell these drinks in all their shops because I haven't seen them at some of the locations that I've been to.
Don't worry. Godiva is expensive here too. =(
Hi briarrose,
Thank you for stopping by and thank you for the compliment. =) I'm glad you liked the milk chocolate drink that you had. Maybe I'll try that next time.
By the way, thank you for posting the link to your blog. Even though it's in Japanese, I can read some of and the pictures are great!
Hi Kirk,
LOL! =P
Hi husky9,
WOW! It's been like forever! So nice to see that you're still around. I keep checking your site, but it doesn't seem like you've updated it in a while.
This looked REALLY good. Too bad it wasn't as good as I was expecting it to be.
Hope to hear from you again soon!
Hi Milgwimper,
I did think about that, but then I don't really have too much time to run the blender. If I do it at midnight, I'll wake the neighbors. Shhhh!
Hi Cheryl,
I'm surprised that they don't have the drink in Singapore. I just checked the website and found that the drink is offered at three of the Godiva locations there:
CityLink
Millenia Walk
Takashimaya
Good luck! Let me know if you're able to find it.
Hi Big BoK,
It was good, but not great! I think I would have enjoyed a Starbucks Caramel Frappuccino® more.
Hi Midge,
EXACTLY! I was expecting it to be so much better than it was. It was good though.

Hi Michele,
I hope you're enjoying Paris. It's been very hot and humid here as well. It was promising...too bad it didn't live up to what I thought it should have been.
Hi Kelly,
Li hing mui shave ice would have been good, only it was after 9pm and all the shave ice places were closed.
Hi Clare,
